NZ reality check

Your customers decide on trust first

National research — not a sales pitch.

Most people still use a website to decide if you're trustworthy — yet nearly half of NZ businesses don't have one, according to InternetNZ (2025). Clear packages so getting online isn't a guessing game.

Sound familiar?

Your site should sell — not apologise.

Whether you're on a DIY template, a five-year-old redesign, or no site at all, the pattern is the same: trust leaks before you get a chance to pitch. If any of this hits home, you're who Scalr is for — new builds, redesigns, and ecommerce when you're ready. See Pricing for packages.

Trust

You apologise for the URL

You hand out your link and add “ignore the design” — so visitors start skeptical before they even read your offer.

Conversion

Traffic that doesn’t convert

You’re sending people from Google, ads, or socials to a page with no clear next step — so clicks never turn into calls or bookings.

Leads

Flying blind

No GA4, no conversion tracking—so you can’t tell what’s working. You’re guessing while the site quietly underperforms.

Friction

Contact details buried

Hours, phone, or booking links are hard to find on mobile. People bounce — and you only hear about it when someone actually tells you.

Credibility

Template or DIY fatigue

You used a generic builder or a tired theme. It looks like everyone else’s — not like a business you’d trust with real money.

Momentum

Stuck on the backlog

A redesign or first launch keeps slipping. Every week without a proper site is a week where sharper competitors win the enquiry.

You're not imagining it. Without clear calls to action, fast mobile load, and analytics wired up, you're guessing — while competitors look like the safer choice.

Pricing is on the page — no mystery quotes

Pick a package that fits, or get in touch and I'll tell you straight what to fix first. Across New Zealand.

Imagine this instead

Imagine a site that works with you—not instead of you.

When layout, copy, and next steps line up with how people decide, you improve the chances they’ll enquire — without pretending a build fee replaces marketing, ads, or sales follow-through.

01
05

You can drag the front card left or right, or swipe on a touchscreen, to move between outcomes. Previous and next buttons are also available.

Outcome 01

Enquiries while you sleep

When forms and booking paths work, you’re not the bottleneck for the first step — visitors can reach you on their timeline, not only yours.

The site handles the first touch; you still own the conversation and the close.

Why this works

Not a web designer who knows some marketing.

A marketer who builds websites — so structure, messaging, and measurement (where your tier includes them) point in the same direction as your business. The build sets you up to earn attention and a clearer next step; it doesn’t replace campaigns, ads, or day-to-day sales follow-through.

Structure that supports the next step

Pages are organised so visitors understand who you are, why you matter, and what to do next — that’s what improves the odds of a booking or enquiry. Results still depend on your offer, traffic, and follow-up.

Foundations that scale by tier

Basic SEO is part of every plan. Deeper SEO architecture, Search Console, and conversion tracking come in on higher tiers where there’s room in scope — check Pricing for the exact split. I’m not bundling a full marketing retainer into the build fee.

Transparent pricing

No quoting games. No surprise invoices. Standard-site packages and Shopify ecommerce tiers — everything we include is published on this page with a simple comparison.

The process

Three steps. No tech overwhelm.

No chasing you for content for months on end. We filter out the noise, focus on what matters for New Zealand small businesses, and get you live without the usual agency runaround.

01

Get in touch

A short chat by phone or email — your situation, what you need, and which package fits. No pressure, no pitch.

02

We Build

You get a mockup first. Once you're happy with the direction, we build the full site. Timing matches your package — from about 1 week (Landing Page) to about 3–4 weeks (Premium). See Pricing for each plan.

03

You Launch

Basic SEO and analytics are set up per your package — see Pricing for what scales on each tier (for example Search Console and conversion tracking on Standard and Premium). Starter and up include a handover or training session where listed; the Landing Page is a single live page — say if you want a short paid walkthrough.

Client experience

Once you're on board

Same promises as the pricing page: clear homework, a mockup before code, bundled revision rounds, and no surprise invoices. If several people need a say, we add milestones — not meetings for the sake of it.

01

Goals before pixels

We align on audience, offer, and the one action you want visitors to take — before design opens.

02

Clear homework

A simple brief for assets, copy direction, and domain access. Premium includes copy assistance.

03

Mockup, then build

Written approval on direction, then code. Out-of-scope work is quoted first — half-day or day blocks for fuzzy work, or the hourly rate in the FAQ for agreed change orders.

04

Launch & handover

Ownership transfers after final payment; handover or training on packages that include it.

From first conversation to live: weeks, not months — exact timing depends on your package, feedback speed, and how quickly assets and access arrive. Ranges are guides, not guarantees.

What we don't do

Clear boundaries help projects stay on time and on budget.

  • Generic template sites that look like every other AI landing page
  • Bundled ‘marketing department’ expectations inside a website build fee
  • Launch-and-disappear — your site should keep improving after go-live

Portfolio

Real sites, live today.

A sample of work across Webflow builds and a custom Next.js app — each with the brief we solved and what shipped. Open the live sites for the full experience.

Prefer Webflow or a custom Next.js stack? Both are in the mix — we pick what fits your budget, content workflow, and how you want to grow.

Karan is the perfect balance of technician and innovator. He has such a solid foundation of technical ability, which is woven with cutting-edge research and strategies in new and emerging technologies. I couldn't recommend Karan more. He was a pleasure to sit next to in two different agencies, and I know he would be an asset to any team requiring an SEO/GEO, AI and digital marketing specialist—with Webflow development skills to boot.

I had the pleasure of working with Karan for eight months at HR Profiling Solutions. Karan was wonderful to work with, he was motivated, reliable and brought outstanding expertise to the role of Digital Marketing Specialist. During his time at HRP, Karan was dedicated to the role and was always looking to further his knowledge. He excelled as a Google Ads specialist and was also willing to engage in other tasks that extend past the scope of his role, like content marketing and design. Karan would be a great asset to any company!

Karan is a gifted problem solver with a rare combination of knowledge, determination, and a willingness to please. I engaged Karan as a freelance digital specialist to automate processes in my Salesforce org in early 2020. Following a successful result, I used his services again to upgrade my website and configure my Google Ads account. Karan went above and beyond to deliver the required outcomes and was professional and diligent throughout the process.

I'm Karan— I've spent 6+ years in digital marketing — campaigns, funnels, and why people click. Small businesses with great offers were losing to competitors with better sites. So I build pages with a goal on every screen, analytics from day one, and copy that sounds like you. I work with businesses across New Zealand — based in Christchurch.

Pricing

Build fee + optional monthly care. No surprises.

Each card shows build cost and optional hosting side by side. Switch to Ecommerce when you need a store, not a brochure site.

Delivery ranges are typical. Timelines stretch when content, approvals, or logins run late — fixed scope is what keeps pricing fair on both sides. FAQ has scope, SEO depth, and change-order detail if you need it.
